Brief:
Skype is heavily relying on it's Database solutions. As Skype evolves, so are our Databases evolving on daily basis, needing rapid and cutting edge development. To ensure all those new solutions keep our everyday business running now and in the future, we are looking for people to put their heart and soul into assuring that overall quality of our Database solutions meet up with our current and future needs.

Responsibilities:

• Keep yourself updated on how Databases are used in Skype
• Develop and use our automated testing framework
• Monitor Databases for possible flaws; manage them together with DBA-s
• Analyze new Database solutions for both functional and non-functional requirements
• Considerable amount of freedom in terms of "how to work" - use it wisely and impress us
• Document your work (planning, bug tracking, your own solutions etc)

Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience:

• BS degree in CS/EE or equivalent
• Experience in Databases administration/development/etc
• SQL, scripting, ability to use Linux/Unix on command line level
• Basic understanding of testing concepts
• Very good command of English
• Good technical, analytical skills
• Manage your own time and tasks efficiently
• You don't tolerate mistakes and errors, you're pedant in a positive way
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple and diverse tasks
•  Good team player and fast learner
